Update on Injured Officers

Statement from Our Chaplain Jody Stimmell

MPD had two Officer shot last night in the Fifth District after they attempted to stop a suspicious person.  The suspect ran away and one of the Officers gave chase with the other Officer following in the scoutcar. The suspect attempted to cross the road when he ran into the scoutcar, and the Officer driving the car put it in park and went hands on with the suspect.  The suspect pulled out a gun and starting firing, at which time one of the Officers returned fire.  All three were shot, the suspect died and the Officers were transported to Washington Hospital Center.

I visited them both last night and both Officers are doing as well as to be expected, their families were notified and both Officers have family in the room with them.  Both Officer share the same room at WHC.  One of the Officers should be going home later today and the other in a few days.  Both of the Officers wounds are not Life threatening.

St. Patricks Day T-Shirts

Thank you all who pre-ordered the FOP St. Patrick's Day T-Shirt! The shirts will be available for pick-up at the lodge after March 6th, just in time for the lodge's St. Patrick's Day party on March 12th.

Karaoke at the Lodge!
